Your Committee on Transportation, to which was referred H.B. No. 458, H.D. 1, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO SMALL BOAT HARBORS,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to authorize the transfer of responsibility for the operations, administration, management, and maintenance of Kihei Launch Ramp from the Board of Land and Natural Resources to the Kaho‘olawe Island Reserve Commission.

The Department of Land and Natural Resources testified in support of this measure. Kaho‘olawe Island Reserve Commission and Ocean Tourism Coalition provided comments.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Transportation that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 458, H.D. 1, and recommends that it be referred to your Committee on Finance.
