Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred H.B. No. 2533, H.D. 1, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE STATE ARCHIVES,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to address current and future facilities needs of the Hawaii State Archives by authorizing the issuance of general obligation bonds and appropriating funds for plans for a Hawaii State Archives Master Plan.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from The Queen's Health Systems, Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement, Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce, Kamehameha Schools, Bishop Museum, Aha Punana Leo, Papa Ola Lokahi, Malama Aina Foundation, Partners in Development Foundation, and one individual. Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Department of Accounting and General Services.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 2533, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
