Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred H.B. No. 1928, H.D. 1, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO DEVELOPMENT DISTRICTS,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to:

(1) Establish the Pulehunui Community Development District on the island of Maui as a community development district within the authority of the Hawaii Community Development Authority; and

(2) Authorize the Hawaii Community Development Authority to obtain various forms of financial aid from the federal government for projects of the Authority.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands and County of Maui Office of the Mayor. Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Department of Land and Natural Resources and Hawaii Community Development Authority.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 1928, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
