Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred H.B. No. 1899, H.D. 1, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO MEDICARE PART B,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to require the Hawaii Employer-Union Health Benefits Trust Fund (EUTF) Board of Trustees to:

(1) Notify EUTF employee-beneficiaries and their spouses who have not requested a reimbursement that they may be eligible for reimbursement of income‑related monthly adjustment amount Medicare Part B premium payments; and

(2) Reimburse EUTF employee-beneficiaries and their spouses for income‑related monthly adjustment amount Medicare Part B premiums for which they were eligible on or after January 1, 2015, without any time limitation for claiming the reimbursement.

Your Committee did not receive any testimony on this measure.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 1899, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
