Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred H.B. No. 1793, H.D. 1, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE COMMISSION ON SALARIES,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to clarify that the salary recommendations of the:

(1) Commission on Salaries convening in 2024 shall be effective through June 30, 2033; and

(2) Commission on Salaries convening in 2030 and Commissions thereafter shall be effective on July 1 of the first fiscal year of the fiscal biennium after the immediately following fiscal biennium in which the recommendations were made.

Your Committee received testimony in opposition to this measure from one individual. Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Judiciary.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 1793, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
