SENATE RESOLUTION
urging the department of the navy to provide security services on saipan drive in whitmore village on the island of oahu to prevent illegal activities on land ADJACENT to a naval facility.
WHEREAS, the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific in Whitmore Village on the island of Oahu provides operational management to all Pacific Naval Telecommunication System users and offers a variety of communication, telecommunication, and informational services to the United States Navy and United States Department of Defense; and
WHEREAS, Saipan Drive in Whitmore Village provides the sole access into and out of the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific facility; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Agribusiness Development Corporation and the City and County of Honolulu have noted a significant rise in illegal activity on and around Saipan Drive, including evidence of murder, auto theft, personal property theft, and illegal dumping; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Thirtieth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2020, that the Department of the Navy is urged to provide security services on Saipan Drive in Whitmore Village on the island of Oahu to prevent illegal activities on land adjacent to a naval facility; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the Secretary of the Navy, Commander of the United States Pacific Fleet, Chairperson of the Board of Agriculture, and the Honolulu City Council member for District 2.
