A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING to health care.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 346D-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (a) to read as follows:
"(a) Waiver programs shall be established and
administered by the department of human services to provide comprehensive home
and community-based services for [the]:
(1) The aged,
chronically ill, disabled, developmentally disabled, and individuals with
intellectual disabilities[,]; and
(2) Individuals
who:
(A) Require
home care services more than twice weekly;
(B) Do
not have ready access to reliable transportation; and
(C) Live thirty miles or more from the nearest hospital;
who are certified as requiring acute, skilled nursing, intermediate care facility, or intermediate care facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities level of care."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
