A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO IMPROVEMENTS AT WAIPAHU HIGH SCHOOL.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $20,575,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2019-2020 for the purpose of capital improvements projects at Waipahu high school, as follows:
1. New integrated academic classroom building – phase 1.
A. Construction $5,500,000
Total funding $5,500,000
2. New integrated academic classroom building – phase 2.
A. Construction $14,500,000
Total funding $14,500,000
3. Campus-wide re-keying project.
A. Design $30,000
Construction $165,000
Total funding $195,000
4. Phase 2 of Waipahu high school campus painting.
Total funding $380,000
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2022, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
