A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to DEPARTMENT OF LAND AND NATURAL RESOURCES PERMIT FEES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Chapter 171, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

"§171-   Permit fee waivers. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, the board of land and natural resources shall not charge a fee to a non-profit organization designated as tax-exempt by the Internal Revenue Service for permits issued pursuant to this chapter for the temporary occupancy of state lands, provided the non-profit organization obtained approval or a permit to occupy the same public land for no less than fifty consecutive years."

SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
