A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to state buildings.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 107, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part II to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§107- State buildings; energy efficiency. (a)
The comptroller shall cause any state building with air conditioning to
set the operating temperature at no less than seventy-three degrees Fahrenheit.
(b) This section shall not apply to the
following:
(1) Storage facilities
or units that require different temperatures for proper storage purposes;
(2) Scientific
purposes; and
(3) Medical purposes."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
