A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to procurement.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Act 42, Session Laws of Hawaii 2017, section 2 is amended as follows:

1. By amending subsection (a) to read:

"(a) There is established, within the state procurement office, a [three-year] small business assistance initiative to facilitate the collection and development of relevant data and information and convene stakeholders for the development of an effective small business program, including the development of rules."

2. By amending subsection (f) to read:

"(f) [The small business assistance initiative shall cease to exist on June 30, 2020; provided that the] The small business advisory group shall [remain] be responsible for submitting a report pursuant to subsection (c)(9)."

SECTION 2. Act 42, Session Laws of Hawaii 2017, is amended by amending section 4 to read as follows:

"SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2017[, and shall be repealed on June 30, 2020]."

SECTION 3. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
