A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Seventeenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $32,125,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2019-2020 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the seventeenth senatorial district, as follows:
Design and construction for parking lot improvement and new parking lot, ground and site improvements.
Design $300,000
Construction $1,750,000
Total funding $2,050,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
2. Honowai Elementary
Design and construction for covered walkway in multiple areas, ground and site improvements, equipment and appurtenances.
Design $200,000
Construction $1,000,000
Total funding $1,200,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
3. Honowai Elementary
Construction for Building H reroof and improvements.
Construction $325,000
Total funding $325,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
4. Palisades Elementary
Design and construction for electrical upgrade.
Design $200,000
Construction $2,000,000
Total funding $2,200,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
5. Palisades Elementary
Design and construction for covered playcourt with storage and restrooms.
Design $500,000
Construction $5,000,000
Total funding $5,500,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
6. Waipahu Elementary
Design for cafeteria expansion and kitchen relocation.
Design $275,000
Total funding $275,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
7. Waipahu High School
Construction for new integrated academic classroom building - phase 1.
Construction $4,500,000
Total funding $4,500,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
8. Waipahu High School
Construction for new integrated academic classroom building - phase 2.
Construction $15,500,000
Total funding $15,500,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
9. Waipahu High School
Design and construction for campus wide re-keying project.
Design $30,000
Construction $165,000
Total funding $195,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
10. Waipahu High School
Equipment for campus painting - phase 2.
Total funding $380,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriations are made; provided that all moneys from the appropriations unencumbered as of June 30, 2022, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
