A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to health education.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 302A, part II, subpart B, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§302A- Mental health education. All department schools shall ensure that their health education programs in grades kindergarten through twelve recognize the multiple dimensions of health by including mental health and the relation of physical and mental health so as to enhance student understanding, attitudes, and behaviors that promote health, well-being, and human dignity."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2020, and shall be repealed on July 1, 2025.
