A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Twenty-sixth REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $4,458,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2020-2021 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the twenty-sixth representative district, as follows:
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for auditorium cooling systems.
Plans $62,500

Construction $62,500
Equipment $62,500
Total funding $250,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
2. Central Middle School
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for auditorium lighting infrastructure.
Plans $50,000

Equipment $50,000
Total funding $200,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
3. Central Middle School
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for exterior LED lighting fixtures around buildings.

Total funding $200,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
4. Lunalilo Elementary School
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for air conditioning for office building.

Total funding $431,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
5. Lunalilo Elementary School
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for renovation of first floor B building restrooms.

Total funding $277,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
6. Washington Middle School
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for a modern, coordinated performing arts academy.

Equipment $100,000
Total funding $3,100,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2022, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2020.
