A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR KAISER COMPLEX SCHOOLS IN THE SEVENTEENTH AND EIGHTEENTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICTS.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 

     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2020-2021:

     1.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Design and construction for air conditioning; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances for Kaiser Complex school classrooms in the seventeenth and eighteenth representative districts.

              Two hundred and thirty-six total classrooms to be air conditioned, including sixty-seven for Kaiser High School, forty for Nui Valley Middle School, thirty-nine for Hahaione Elementary School, thirty-three for Aina Haina Elementary School, thirty for Koko Head Elementary School, and twenty-seven for Kamiloiki Elementary School.

          Construction                           $2,435,631

              Construction – Kaiser High           $537,597

              Construction – Nui Valley Middle     $505,286

              Construction – Hahaione Elementary   $266,843

              Construction – Aina Haina Elementary $414,159

              Construction – Koko Head Elementary  $347,270

              Construction – Kamiloiki Elementary  $364,476

          Total funding                          $3,278,686

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2020.
