A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to assisted living facilities.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 321, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part I to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§321- Assisted living facilities; registered nurse
required. (a) Beginning
not later than January 1, 2021, assisted living facility shall have at least one
registered nurse available on its premises at all times to meet the care management
and monitoring needs of its residents.
(b) For
the purpose of this section, "registered nurse" means a registered nurse
licensed under chapter 457."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
