A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO SCHOOL IMPACT FEES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Chapter 302A, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to subpart B of part VI to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

"§302A-    Legislative approval of school impact fees; concurrent resolution. Any proposal by the department for a new school impact fee, or to amend an existing school impact fee, pursuant to this subpart shall first be subject to adoption by the legislature through a concurrent resolution in any regular or special session following the date of the department's proposal."

SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
