A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Thirty-second REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $13,050,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2020-2021 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the thirty-second representative district, as follows:
Design, construction, and equipment for renovation and expansion of the administration building; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.
Design $500,000
Construction $4,000,000
Equipment $50,000
Total funding $4,550,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
2. Moanalua Elementary School
Design, construction, and equipment for electrical upgrade and air conditioning improvement; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.
Design $100,000
Construction $400,000
Equipment $100,000
Total funding $600,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
3. Moanalua Elementary School
Design, construction, and equipment for multi-purpose innovation center; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.
Design $320,000
Construction $2,880,000
Equipment $50,000
Total funding $3,250,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
4. Moanalua High School
Design for new athletic facility to include a girls' locker room, training room, meeting room, and storage.
Design $750,000
Total funding $750,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
5. Moanalua High School
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for Title IX improvements on softball field.
Plans $100,000
Design $100,000
Construction $1,500,000
Equipment $300,000
Total funding $2,000,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
6. Moanalua Middle School
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for electrical system upgrade.
Plans $20,000
Design $20,000
Construction $100,000
Equipment $60,000
Total funding $200,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
7. Salt Lake Elementary School
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for electrical upgrade.
Plans $100,000
Design $100,000
Construction $500,000
Equipment $1,000,000
Total funding $1,700,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2022, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2020.
