A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE SECOND REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2019-2020:
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Hilo intermediate school, Hawaii
Design and construction to replace the second floor ceiling fans in building L; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

Construction $399,000
Total funding $400,000
B. Keaukaha elementary school, Hawaii
Design and construction to replace the air conditioning systems in portables 3 and 4; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.
Design $1,000
Construction $139,000
Total funding $140,000
C. Waiakea elementary school, Hawaii
Plans and construction to replace the broken playground equipment behind building B that is not being used due to safety issues; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.
Plans $1,000
Construction $499,000
Total funding $500,000
D. Waiakea elementary school, Hawaii
Plans and construction to restore the playground equipment in front of portables 2 and 3 that is experiencing major wear and tear due to high usage; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

Total funding $250,000
E. Waiakea intermediate school, Hawaii
Design and construction to replace the windows in buildings A, B, D, and E; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.
Design $1,000
Construction $499,000
Total funding $500,000
F. Waiakeawaena elementary school, Hawaii
Design and construction to install insect screens in buildings C and D; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.
Design $1,000
Construction $291,000
Total funding $292,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
