A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to artificial intelligence.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. (a) The Hawaii tourism authority shall convene a global artificial intelligence summit to be held in 2020. The purpose of the summit shall be to gather experts from around the world to discuss innovations in artificial intelligence technologies and to share and develop practical applications for artificial intelligence technologies.
(b) The Hawaii tourism authority may contract the
services of another entity to effectuate the purpose of this Act.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the tourism special fund the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2019-2020 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2020-2021 for the Hawaii tourism authority to host a global artificial intelligence summit in 2020.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the Hawaii tourism authority for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
