RELATING TO SHARK AND RAY PROTECTION.

Prohibits, establishes criminal penalties, and establishes administrative fines for any person who knowingly captures, takes, possesses, abuses, entangles, or kills any shark within state marine waters.  Expands the existing protection for rays within state marine waters.  Provides certain exemptions.  (HB808 HD1)

RELATING TO LEASE EXTENSIONS ON PUBLIC LAND.

Authorizes the Board of Land and Natural Resources to extend leases of public lands for commercial, industrial, resort, or government use upon approval of a proposed development agreement to make substantial improvements to the existing improvements. Sunsets on June 30, 2029.  (HB1025 HD1)

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO COMMERCIAL OCEAN RECREATION.

Requires the Department of Land and Natural Resources to adopt rules pursuant to Chapter 91, HRS, to require certain safety measures for commercial ocean operators that take customers into state waters for activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, and surfing lessons.  (HB1151 HD1)

RELATING TO THE STATEWIDE BOATING PROGRAM.

Defines "state boating facility" to include any day-use mooring buoy system.  Authorizes funds from the Boating Special Fund to be used for any day-use mooring buoy system in the State.  (HB1460 HD1)
