Vacancies continue to plague the departments in carrying out their individual missions and functions, hindering their ability to serve the public. This informational briefing will identify the problems in attracting needed staff and possible solutions to filling critical positions.

 

The Department of Human Resources (DHRD) is responsible for recruitment, as well as the programs that enable departments to recruit and retain high quality employees.

 

The following Departments have been invited to present on their current vacancies:

·       Office of Enterprise Technology Services  (ETS)

·       Department of Accounting and General Services (DAGS)

·       Department of Agriculture (DOA)

·       Department of the Attorney General (AG)

·       Department of Budget and Finance (B&F)

·       Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism (DBEDT)

·       Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA)

·       Department of Defense (DoD)

·       Department of Education (DOE)

·       Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL)

·       Department of Health (DOH)

·       Department of Human Resources Development (DHRD)

·       Department of Human Services (DHS)

·       Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR)

·       Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR)

·       Department of Public Safety (PSD)

·       Department of Taxation (DoTAX)

·       Department of Transportation (DOT)

·       University of Hawai‘i (UH)

To conclude, the DHRD will share potential solutions and pilot projects to address these issues.
