RELATING TO OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY. Requires general acute care hospitals to use lift teams and lifting equipment and devices for the lifting and transferring of patients for whom not using lift teams and lifting equipment and devices would pose the risk of injury to the health care workers or the patients.

RELATING TO DISINTERMENT OF HUMAN BODIES. Allows private cemeteries in good standing with the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs to disinter and reinter human bodies within the same cemetery without filing an application for a permit with the Department of Health.

RELATING TO PRESCRIPTION DRUGS. Requires that if a proposed increase in the wholesale price of certain drugs would result in a 16% or more price increase over a 2-year period, the drug manufacturer shall notify various drug insurance providers.

RELATING TO SUICIDE PREVENTION. Appropriates moneys for youth suicide early intervention, prevention, and education initiatives in Kauai and Hawaii counties.

RELATING TO HEALTH. Establishes a Suicide Prevention Commission to develop a strategic plan to reduce suicides within Hawaii's correctional system.

RELATING TO PRESCRIPTION DRUGS. Authorizes pharmacies to accept the return of any prescription drug for disposal via collection receptacles or mail-back programs; prohibits pharmacies from redispensing returned prescription drugs or from accepting returned prescription drugs in exchange for cash or credit; requires the pharmacist-in-charge to ensure that only authorized reverse distributors acquire prescription drugs collected via collection receptacles or mail-back programs.

RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION. Establishes and funds a pilot project to demonstrate new toilet and sewage treatment technologies and to expedite traditional permitting and regulation for the demonstration projects. (HB1170 HD1)

RELATING TO THE PHYSICAL THERAPY PRACTICE ACT. Amends the physical therapy practice act to allow physical therapists to practice dry needling.

RELATING TO PALLIATIVE CARE. Establishes the culturally competent palliative care pilot program to promote palliative care, gather health care utilization data, and conduct bidding for at least two pilot programs for home or community based palliative care, one of which must be located in a county with less than two hundred thousand residents. Requires reports to the legislature. Establishes an advisory group to oversee implementation of the pilot program. Appropriates funds.
