The Councilmember representing District 9 of the City and County of Honolulu, We Are One, Inc., and a few individuals submitted testimony in support of this measure. The Chamber of Commerce Hawaii, Hawaii Food Industry Association, PCG Enterprises LLC, Maui Chamber of Commerce, Envisions Entertainment & Productions, Inc., Retail Merchants of Hawaii, Hawai‘i Farm Bureau, Hawaii Business League, and one individual submitted testimony in opposition to this measure. The Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu, IMUAlliance, Democratic Party of Hawai‘i, Democratic Party of Hawai‘i Education Caucus, Hawaii Appleseed Center for Law & Economic Justice, American Association for University Women of Hawaii, LGBT Caucus of the Democratic Party of Hawaii, Hawaii Children's Action Network, and many individuals provided comments.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 96, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
