     Your Committee on Judiciary, to which was referred H.B. No. 710, H.D. 1, entitled:

 

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES,"

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose of this measure is to add reproductive health decision and utilization of family leave to the list of categories that are protected against discriminatory employment practices.

 

     The Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women, Hawaii Civil Rights Commission, Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest and Hawaii, Hawaii Women Lawyers, American Civil Liberties Union of Hawaii, Save Medicaid Hawaii, American Association of University Women of Hawaii, Hawaii Government Employees Association, AFSCME Local 152, AFL-CIO, LGBT Caucus of the Democratic Party of Hawaii, Oahu County Committee on Legislative Priorities of the Democratic Party of Hawaii, Midwives Alliance of Hawaii, and three individuals provided testimony in support of this measure.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Judiciary that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 710, H.D. 1, and recommends that it be referred to your Committee on Finance.
