SENATE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
Urging the department of Education to adopt the use of electronic transcripts.
WHEREAS, each public school is tasked with keeping students' education records, or transcripts; and
WHEREAS, transcripts help schools, students, and families track students' progress in school; and
WHEREAS, transcripts are also important documents for opportunities after high school, such as college admission, scholarship eligibility, and employment; and
WHEREAS, it is important that these documents are safe and that the upkeep of these documents incorporate the advantages of technology in today's digital world to improve student satisfaction, achieve operational process efficiencies, and provide cost savings; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Thirtieth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2019, the House of Representatives concurring, that the Department of Education is urged to adopt the use of electronic transcripts; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Chair of the Board of Education and Superintendent of Education.
