A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to public land leases.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 171, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part II, subpart D, to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§171- Public
lands master lease; reasonable compensation. Notwithstanding any other law to the
contrary, any master lease for public land entered into pursuant to this
chapter shall require the lessor to receive reasonable compensation, which
shall be determined by appraisal."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
