A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING AND GENERAL SERVICES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The purpose of this Act is to appropriate additional funds for capital improvement projects for the fiscal biennium beginning July 1, 2019, and ending June 30, 2021, for the state foundation on culture and the arts program of the department of accounting and general services, which is under the purview of the house of representatives standing committee on tourism and international affairs.
SECTION 2. The following sum, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the works of art special fund for fiscal year 2020-2021.
1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. No. 1 Capitol District Building, Oahu.
Design and construction to renovate building walkway and entrance, relocation of property entrance, expansion of vehicular drop-off and pick-up area, and other accessibility improvements to accommodate increased requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Design $ 300,000
Construction $2,300,000
Total funding $2,600,000
SECTION 3. The sum appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 2 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2022, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
