RELATING TO CRUSTACEANS.

Transfers the statutory provisions of section 188-58.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, that prohibit the taking or killing of female spiny lobsters, kona crabs, and samoan crabs, to administrative rules of the Department of Land and Natural Resources.

RELATING TO COMMERCIAL FISHING.

Authorizes the department of land and natural resources to issue commercial marine licenses and subtypes of commercial marine licenses for the taking of marine life.

RELATING TO QUEEN LILI‘UOKALANI DAY.

Establishes Queen Lili‘uokalani Day on the first Monday in the month of September each year, rather than on September 2, in order to coincide with Labor Day.

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR HE‘EIA NATIONAL ESTUARINE RESEARCH RESERVE.

Appropriates funds for fiscal year 2018-2019 to maintain the initial staff positions that are necessary to develop and manage the He‘eia National Estuarine Research Reserve and its programs.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
