RELATING TO COFFEE BERRY BORER.

Extends through June 30, 2022, the exemption from chapter 76, Hawaii Revised Statutes, of the pesticide subsidy program manager position in order to provide assistance to local coffee farmers for pesticide costs incurred through the final year of the program.  (HB2305 HD1)

Requires certain government decision-makers at the state and county levels to attend a training course on native Hawaiian and Hawaiian rights.  (HB1999 HD1)

RELATING TO SERVICES PERFORMED BY CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEES.

Authorizes establishment of permanent civil service positions for the Hawaii Public Housing Authority to provide services historically and customarily performed by civil service employees in connection with refuse collection.

Status

RELATING TO THE ASSAULT OF A UTILITY WORKER.

Establishes a class C felony for an assault against a utility worker that causes serious or substantial bodily injury or an assault against a utility worker with a dangerous instrument that causes bodily injury.

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·     The date and time of the hearing; and

·     Measure number. 

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
