RELATING TO ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS.

Extends the sunset date of Act 65, SLH 2013, which provides a limited exemption to the licensing requirements for certain individuals in situations when an electric utility must retain qualified individuals to work with high voltage (600 volts or higher) who are not licensed in the State but are otherwise deemed qualified by the electric utility.  (SB2297 HD1)

RELATING TO MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELORS.

Amends the practicum experience requirements for qualification for licensure as a mental health counselor. (SB2647 HD1)

Amends the ethics continuing education requirement for dentists to require six hours of ethics training within each biennial renewal period instead of three hours annually.  (SB2931 HD1)

RELATING TO THE SUPERVISION OF LICENSED DENTAL HYGIENISTS IN A PUBLIC HEALTH SETTING.

Allows licensed dental hygienists to practice under the general or direct supervision of any licensed dentist providing dental services in a public health setting.  (SD1)

RELATING TO DENTISTRY.

Requires the Board of Dental Examiners to adopt rules to establish a regulatory structure for the regulation of dental assistants in Hawaii.  (SB2926 HD1)

Status

RELATING TO WIRELESS BROADBAND FACILITIES.

Establishes a process to upgrade and support next generation wireless broadband infrastructure throughout the State.  Establishes a permitting, application, review, and approval process for wireless service providers to install wireless facilities on state or county owned utility poles, or install associated utility poles, in the right of way.  Effective 7/1/2050.  Applies to permit applications filed with the State or county after 12/31/2018.  (SD2)

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
