RELATING TO COLLECTIVE BARGAINING. Establishes a collective bargaining unit for graduate student assistants employed by the University of Hawaii.

RELATING TO CESSPOOLS. Establishes a Cesspool Conversion Working Group within the Department of Health to develop a comprehensive plan for the conversion of all statewide cesspools by 2050. Requires the University of Hawaii to conduct a comprehensive statewide study of sewage contamination in nearshore marine areas. Appropriates funding to the Department of Health for the Cesspool Conversion Working Group and to the University of Hawaii for the study of sewage contamination in nearshore marine areas.

RELATING TO EDUCATION. Requires the Department of Education to equip all classroom doors with interior locks by January 1, 2019. Authorizes the Department of Education to establish an emergency management plan for all schools to prepare for and respond to an emergency or a disaster. Appropriates funds to install interior locks on all classroom doors in Department of Education schools.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website. This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
