Status

RELATING TO NON-GENERAL FUNDS.

Abolishes various non-general funds and accounts of the Department of Taxation and transfers the unencumbered balances to the general fund.

RELATING TO GRANTS.

Allows only nonprofit corporations to be recipients of grants in aid appropriated by the Legislature under Chapter 42F, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

Status

RELATING TO TAXATION.

Requires that a marketplace provider withhold and remit general excise tax on sales made by marketplace sellers in this State that are facilitated by the marketplace provider.  Amends the definition of "business" in the State's general excise tax law.

Status

RELATING TO TAXATION.

Requires that real estate investment trusts file returns reporting their shareholders' pro rata shares of net income and net income attributable to this State.  Provides for composite returns and requires withholding for those shareholders who do not agree to file returns or pay tax on their pro rata share of net income attributable to this State.  Applies to taxable years beginning after 12/31/2018.

Proposed HD1

Status

RELATING TO CONFORMITY TO THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE.

Proposed HD1:  Conforms Hawaii income and estate and generation-skipping transfer tax laws to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended as of December 31, 2017.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·     The date and time of the hearing; and

·     Measure number. 

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.
