RELATING TO EARLY EDUCATION. Appropriates funds to the Executive Office on Early Learning for personnel, supplies, and equipment to support the Office and Early Learning Board.

RELATING TO EARLY EDUCATION. Appropriates funds to the Executive Office on Early Learning for an online platform to facilitate professional learning for Executive Office on Early Learning public pre-kindergarten program educators.

RELATING TO EDUCATION. Appropriates funds for laptop or tablet computers to be used by teachers and students for digital teaching and learning to ensure that students in public schools have fair access to technology.

RELATING TO EDUCATION FUNDING. Requires the Legislative Reference Bureau to conduct a study on the impact of the weighted student formula on small and remote schools to determine whether the formula fulfills its statutory purpose of equalizing operational funding among the State's public schools.

RELATING TO TAXATION. Allows for a state income tax deduction for teacher supplies purchased related to the classroom. Increases the franchise tax on banks and other financial corporations.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW
Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony should indicate:
· Testifier's name with position/title and organization;
· The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;
· The date and time of the hearing; and
· Measure number.
While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

WEB: For testimony less than 20MB in size, transmit from http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/submittestimony.aspx.
Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website. This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
