Your Committees on Intrastate Commerce and Health & Human Services, to which was referred S.B. No. 2653, S.D. 1, entitled:
"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO CHAPTER 453, HAWAII REVISED STATUTES,"
beg leave to report as follows:
The purpose of this measure is to:
(1) Establish requirements for licensure by endorsement for physicians, surgeons, and osteopathic physicians to practice in Hawaii; and
(2) Make an appropriation from the Compliance Resolution Fund to implement the new licensure by endorsement requirements.
The Department of Health, Hawaii Health Systems Corporation Corporate Board of Directors, Hilo Medical Center, Hawaii Medical Board, Hawai‘i Primary Care Association, Healthcare Association of Hawaii, Hawaii Medical Association, Hawai‘i Pacific Health, Oahu County Committee on Legislative Priorities of the Democratic Party of Hawai‘i, The Queen's Health Systems, and Community First supported this measure.
As affirmed by the records of votes of the members of your Committees on Intrastate Commerce and Health & Human Services that are attached to this report, your Committees are in accord with the intent and purpose of S.B. No. 2653, S.D. 1, and recommend that it pass Second Reading and be referred to your Committee on Consumer Protection & Commerce.
