SENATE RESOLUTION
urging all the counties of hawaii to create a special license plate decal, similar to the city and county of honolulu's "hawaii says NO MORE Week" special license plate decal, to raise funds to end domestic violence and sexual ABUSE.
WHEREAS, the City and County of Honolulu began selling special license plate decals to honor "Hawaii Says NO MORE Week", and to support a national public awareness campaign directed to end domestic violence and sexual assault; and
WHEREAS, the special license plate decals cost $30.50 for the first year and $25 for following years, and of the revenues received from special license plate decals, $20 will be donated to the Windward Spouse Abuse Shelter; and
WHEREAS, these decals support the theme of "We're Louder Together" and act as physical representations of the support behind ending domestic violence and sexual abuse; and
WHEREAS, this body fully supports the movement to end domestic violence and sexual abuse and believes that more effort should be put towards raising funds to end domestic violence and sexual abuse; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Twenty-ninth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2018, that all counties of the State of Hawaii are urged to create a special license plate decal, similar to the special decal of the City and County of Honolulu honoring "Hawaii Says NO MORE Week", and donate some of the proceeds to end domestic violence and sexual abuse in the respective county; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the Mayors of the counties of Hawaii, Kauai, and Maui.
