TWENTY-NINTH LEGISLATURE, 2018

S.D. 1

STATE OF HAWAII

A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO THE DIVISION OF CONSERVATION AND RESOURCES ENFORCEMENT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1.  The legislature finds that the poor conditions of roads in many of the rural areas on the island of Hawaii hamper the ability of officers of the division of conservation and resources enforcement of the department of land and natural resources, in the course of their duties, to pursue alleged suspects.

Therefore, the purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds to the department of land and natural resources' division of conservation and resources enforcement to upgrade the division's trucks currently in use in Hawaii county.

SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $39,084 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2018-2019 to upgrade the division of conservation and resources enforcement's trucks currently in use in Hawaii county.

The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2018.
