A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to liquor.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 281, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part II to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§281- Rules
or regulations restricting liquor consumption by hired stage performers while
performing prohibited. (a) A
liquor commission shall not adopt or enforce any rule or regulation that prohibits
any hired stage performer from consuming any liquor while that performer is
performing on stage at a licensed premises; provided that the hired stage performer
is not otherwise prohibited from consuming liquor by law.
(b) For purposes of this section "hired stage performer" means any person hired for the specific purpose of performing on stage at a licensed premises for a specified period of time or number of performances and who performs no other service for the licensed premises."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
