A BILL FOR AN ACT

Relating to school recess.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Chapter 302A, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

"§302A-   School lunch recess periods. Every department school where students are required to eat meals at school shall establish a recess period of not less than fifteen minutes prior to the lunch meal period for all grade levels."

SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
