A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 26, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part II to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§26-    Gubernatorial nominees; executive branch; deadline for notice.  For any executive branch position for which the nomination is subject to the senate's advice and consent, the governor shall provide written notice to the senate of the name of the gubernatorial nominee no later than the      day of a regular legislative session in which the nomination is to be considered.  The senate shall not consider any gubernatorial nomination that it receives after the      day of the regular legislative session, unless otherwise allowed by its rules."

     SECTION 2.  This Act does not affect rights and duties that matured, penalties that were incurred, and proceedings that were begun before its effective date.

     SECTION 3.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.

Requires the Governor to provide written notice to the Senate within a certain time period during the regular legislative session of the name of any gubernatorial nominee for an executive branch position that is subject to the Senate's advice and consent.  (SB2055 HD1)
