HOUSE RESOLUTION
CONGRATULATING THE MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AT THE NATIONAL ORCHESTRA FESTIVAL.
WHEREAS, the National Orchestra Festival, sponsored by the American String Teachers Association, is one of the most prestigious musical events in the nation that brings together selected Youth Orchestras, Middle School Orchestras, and High School Orchestras from around the country based on their application and supporting materials; and
WHEREAS, the selected orchestras travel to Atlanta, Georgia, to perform before a national audience and receive placement, ratings, comments, and education from leading clinicians and adjudicators in the industry; and
WHEREAS, the MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA was one of twenty high school groups, selected from around the nation, to attend the National Orchestra Festival; and
WHEREAS, the MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, under the direction of Music Director Elden T. Seta, values the humanistic qualities of playing music; and
WHEREAS, the MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA practiced diligently to perform at the National Orchestra Festival, and their hard work was rewarded when they took first place in the High School Full Orchestra category and earned the title of Grand Champion High School Division; and
WHEREAS, this accomplishment exemplifies the passion and dedication of the distinguished musicians of the MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-ninth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2018, that this body hereby commends and recognizes the talented members of the MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA and Music Director Elden T. Seta for their hard work and outstanding achievement, and extends to them its warmest aloha and sincere good wishes for success in all of their endeavors.
