TWENTY-NINTH LEGISLATURE, 2018
STATE OF HAWAII

WHEREAS, the HIGHLANDS INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL ROBOTICS PROGRAM brings pride and inspiration to the people of the State of Hawaii; and

WHEREAS, the HIGHLANDS INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL ROBOTICS PROGRAM helps students develop valuable life skills in critical thinking, project management, leadership, and communication; and

WHEREAS, Highlands Intermediate School Robotics Teams 394A and 394B will represent the State of Hawaii in Kentucky at the VEX World Championship as a testament to their creativity, hard work, and perseverance; and

WHEREAS, through their dedication and commitment, Highlands Intermediate School Robotics Team 394B won the Excellence Award at the Hawaiian Electric Companies' Hawaii State VEX Championships; and

WHEREAS, Highlands Intermediate School Robotics Team 394A's impressive teamwork and engineering skills helped them win the Tournament Championship at the Hawaiian Electric Companies' Hawaii State VEX Championships; and

WHEREAS, the HIGHLANDS INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL ROBOTICS PROGRAM is represented by advisor, Mrs. Joan Okai, and students: Stephanie Antonio, Noah Calbero, Camy Chigawa, Sean Delara, Mathew Faleafine, Arisa Fukushima, May Guzman, Ken Hirohata, Ethan Kishimori, Nathan Mones, Alyssa Nakagawa, Cody Nakamura, Ryden Omine, and Kaye Tadaki; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-ninth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2018, that this body hereby congratulates the HIGHLANDS INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL ROBOTICS PROGRAM and Teams 394A and 394B for representing the State of Hawaii at the VEX World Championship, commends them and their advisor, Mrs. Joan Okai, for their hard work and dedication, and wishes them continued success and the best of luck at the Championship.
