A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF LAND AND NATURAL RESOURCES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the special fund the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2018-2019 to establish eight permanent full-time equivalent (8.00 FTE) enforcement officer positions in the division of conservation and resources enforcement of the department of land and natural resources; provided that:
(1) Two positions shall be assigned each to the city and county of Honolulu and the counties of Hawaii, Maui, and Kauai;
(2) One enforcement officer position in each of the counties shall be involved in cases and incidences relating to water resources; and
(3) One enforcement officer position in each of the counties shall be involved in cases and incidences relating to land resources.
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on January 28,
2045.
