A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to health.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 8, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§8-    Hawaii alcohol and opioid addiction awareness and recovery month.  The month of September shall be known and designated as "Hawaii Alcohol and Opioid Addiction Awareness and Recovery Month" to promote public awareness of alcohol and opioid addiction as a significant societal, public health, and general welfare problem and to promote recovery from these addictions."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
