The following measures were previously heard in their respective standing committees:
RELATING TO OPEN GOVERNMENT. Allows the electronic mailing of meeting notices; requires the posting of the notice on the State's or appropriate county's electronic calendar; and clarifies potential posting disputes. Adds emergency meetings to the public meeting notice requirements. Requires boards to make board packets available for public inspection and provide notice, upon request, of the availability of board packets.

RELATING TO RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTED OFFICERS. Removes the 1-year residency requirement for appointment to a county chief of police position.

RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY. Requires police departments to disclose to the Legislature the identity of an officer upon the officer's second suspension in a five-year period or discharge. Requires disclosure under the Uniform Information Practices Act after a police officer's second suspension in a five-year period.

RELATING TO COUNTY ACCESS TO PRIVATE PROPERTY. Authorizes the counties through their employees or authorized agents to enter private property to control or eradicate invasive species and pests. (SD1)

RELATING TO MEDIA ACCESS. Allows the news media, under certain conditions, to access areas that are closed pursuant to emergency management powers of the governor and mayor. Limits the liability of the State and counties. Takes effect 5/22/2050. (SD1)

RELATING TO LIQUOR. Amends statutory language on liquor license application and operating procedures for clarity. (SD1)

RELATING TO FIREARMS. Requires that certain agencies be notified when a firearm permit application is denied because the applicant is prohibited from owning, possessing, receiving, or controlling a firearm under federal or state law. Requires the department of public safety to notify the probation or parole officer of an applicant, if applicable, upon notification of a permit denial. Takes effect 5/22/2050. (SD1)

RELATING TO TORT LIABILITY. Makes Act 170, SLH 2002, which provides limited liability protection for county lifeguards and counties providing lifeguard services on beaches or in the ocean permanent.
