     Your Committee on Ocean, Marine Resources, & Hawaiian Affairs, to which was referred S.C.R. No. 88, S.D. 2, entitled:

 

"SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION URGING THE UNITED STATES ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS, DEPARTMENT OF LAND AND NATURAL RESOURCES, AND OTHERS, TO COLLABORATE TO RESEARCH AND DEVELOP A PLAN FOR INCREASING WATER CIRCULATION AND IMPROVING WATER QUALITY IN POKAI BAY ON LEEWARD OAHU,"

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose of this measure is to urge the United States Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), along with the Department of Health, University of Hawaii System, City and County of Honolulu, and Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center, to work collaboratively to research and develop a plan for increasing water circulation and improving water quality in Pokai Bay on Oahu's Leeward Coast to mitigate environmental and health risks caused by pollution and contaminants in the water.

 

     Three concerned individuals testified in support of this measure.  DLNR commented on this measure.   

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Ocean, Marine Resources, & Hawaiian Affairs that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of S.C.R. No. 88, S.D. 2, and recommends that it be referred to your Committee on Finance.
