A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND PREMIUMS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The purpose of this Act is to amend
section
39-6, Hawaii Revised Statutes, to allow premiums received on the sale of
general obligation bonds to be used for eligible capital expenditures pursuant
to section 39-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, in addition to allowing the premiums
to be deposited to the general fund.
SECTION 2. Section 39-6, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:
"§39-6 Premiums [to
general fund]. The premiums received from the sale of any bonds issued
pursuant to this part [shall] may be used for the purposes of section
39-2 or may be a realization of the general fund of the State."
SECTION 3. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
