A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO FIRE SPRINKLERS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Act 83, Session Laws of Hawaii 2012, is amended by amending section 3 to read as follows:

     "SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2012; provided that on June 30, [2017,] 2027, this Act shall be repealed."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on June 29, 2017.

Counties; Automatic Fire Sprinklers; Residences; Agricultural and Aquacultural Structures

Description:

Extends the prohibition on county requirements for automatic sprinklers or sprinkler systems in one- and two-family detached dwelling units and non-residential agricultural and aquacultural structures located outside urban areas.  (CD1)
