A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to information practices.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 92F-11, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (e) to read as follows:
"(e) [Each agency] The office
of information practices may adopt rules, pursuant to chapter 91, to
protect [its] agency records from theft, loss, defacement,
alteration, or deterioration and to prevent manifestly excessive interference
with the discharge of [its] agencies' other lawful responsibilities
and functions."
SECTION 2. Section 92F-26, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:
"§92F-26 Rules. The office of
information practices shall adopt rules, under chapter 91, establishing
procedures necessary to implement or administer this part, which the agencies
shall [adopt, insofar as practicable,] follow in order to ensure
uniformity among state and county agencies."
SECTION 3. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
