A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to medical marijuana.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 329D-25, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:
"[[]§329D-25[]]
Coordination among state and federal agencies. The department shall
initiate ongoing dialogue among relevant state and federal agencies to identify
processes and policies that ensure the privacy of qualifying patients and the
compliance of qualifying patients, primary caregivers, and medical marijuana dispensaries
with state laws and regulations related to medical marijuana[.]; provided
that medical use as defined in section 329-121 in the State is accepted medical
use in treatment in the United States, and that the current federal
classification of marijuana does not apply to state medical use of marijuana
programs."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
